What's the general feel of these Mahindra's compared to a kubota? I have a BX2200 I am getting ready to sell and wanted to upgrade to a larger machine that I can put a backhoe on. Either a larger Kubota or I am considering a Mahindra. There is a dealer here in town, I know the guys very well. Anyone have one with lots of hard hours on it?
I have a buddy with 2 of them and he's had good luck. I hate to ge rid of my BX2200- it only has 298 hrs but I think it's time to step up.
Any opinions are appreciated...Jim

I don't know about the Mahindra but I did do what you are planning on doing this year. I traded my BX2200 in to the Kubota dealer for a B7800. If you trade once you may do it again. With what I have in land and what I'm doing I think I'm where I need to be with the B7800 tractor but I thought that with cars over 70 times.(well some of those times I knew this car is only till I can get a better one) I don't think the Mahindra will hold value any where near the Kubota. Check used prices Kubota vs Mahindra and see. Glad I traded up to B7800. Liked BX2200 but B7800 is much faster with FEL, bigger bucket and feels so much more planted to the ground which gives it far superior traction. I also went from 5'MMM on BX2200 to 6'RFM and also glad I did that. I have box blade and landscape rake which would sometimes create traction problems for the BX2200. B7800 goes like their not there. Weight/traction/hp are key factors with a tractor which I did not understand 2 years ago. Also with cars but with different results and values. ....

I was thinking of loading it up and looking at a trade. I just know they are pretty hot sellers here in CT. I called on 2 bx2200's to see if they sold from the local classifieds. One was 9500 and the other 10000. Both were gone believe it or not. I didn't think they held the value lke this. CT is expensive with everything. I didn't want to lug it to the dealer and have them offer me 6,000 for it. they won't even give me a ball park over the phone. I need to step up. I have just under 5 acres and lots of stuff left to do. the bx is great but I'm losing my patience for the smaller bucket bringing material down my 400' path one small bucket at a time.

ct you are not the only one to feel that way! In as much as I often have the ability to use a large variety of equipment I am sometimes short of time to get the job done. If you were to make the move up do go to the three range transmission as it allows you to do much of your digging in the middle range making the trips up your path faster by several mph. The larger tractor will hinder manuverability from time to time over the BX but you really have to make a jump over several size tractors to make it worth your while. I was talking to a customer the other day and he was talking about how few hours that he is currently putting on his BX23 now that he is done with his excavating for a while. He was at 100 plus hours a year on his prior machines and liked to trade every other year but he is having trouble getting the hours on his with just mowing. He currently has 7 1/2 acres with about four acres of lawn and the rest between woods and steep elevation changes on each side of 50' to 75' with a small stream meandering thru his property. ....

(just a thought) The Mahindra in that size, is a Mitichibe,,how ever you spell it,,(I murdered that one)and is a GREAT tractor ....
